Windjammer Days is where the season starts for us. Each June the historic schooners sail into Boothbay Harbor, and the whole town shifts gear. The sails catch the wind in a way that looks powerful and calm at the same time, and the harbor gets busy without ever feeling crowded.

The centerpiece is the Gathering of the Fleet. The boats come in slowly, people collect along the waterfront, and for an hour or so nobody is thinking about a schedule. We have watched it every year and it has not worn off.
