The town in July is the classic Maine summer people picture. Waterfront streets, a working harbor, seafood, boat tours, rock and spruce coastline. What makes the month special is that you can do all of it without fighting the weather.

If one experience wins every season, it is time on the water. Sailing trips, harbor cruises, wildlife tours and scenic boat rides show you the coast the way it is meant to be seen, with cool air, open views and quiet. Guests tell us over and over that the boat was the highlight of the trip.

The rest fills in on its own. Browse the shops downtown. Walk the harbor at dusk. Watch boats come back to the docks. In this weather, none of it needs a schedule.
